Knollwood Christian School by Dr. Larry Jones:
Our start to this school year has been superb. The students and their families are excited and so are the teachers. Our numbers are down a little this year (that is the case nation wide due to the economy), but our opportunities are continuing to increase.
We have added three major programs to our curriculum this year. First, some of our grades are taking up golf through the First Tee Program at FarmLinks. Second, we have added a Life Application class where some of our classes will spend their Friday afternoons doing one of three activities designed to help them develop a Biblical view of life (as opposed to a world view) and to enhance a servant’s heart. This will be done through viewing and analyzing movies, interacting with guest speakers, and doing service pro-jects throughout the community. Finally, we are developing a school newspaper and coming online with social technology such as through Facebook to keep everyone informed with all we are doing and to use as an instrument to share what Christ is doing in us and through us.
Please contact us for more information about our Golf Tournament on Thursday, Oct 13 or to sponsor our students as we spread out across the community that week spreading the love of Christ through service projects.
Care House: We will be providing workers for Care House September 26-29. Please talk with Beverly Perkins if you would like to help.
"Jesus Meets Our Opposing Hearts and Gives Rest for the Weary”In Matthew 11-13, we see that in Jesus the Kingdom of God comes – not in works of power and success – but in mysterious grace amid weakness and the opposition of sinful hearts. Why? Because this is the only way for our Savior to give rest and redemption to sinners like you and me! This month, Jesus encounters the ways we oppose Jesus even in our best attempts of religion. The question we are lovingly confronted with is, Will we run or will we rest?
